Not sensing dryness correctly and running too long

Whirlpool Dryer, WED8740DW0, used to sense dryness correctly and most full loads would take about 45 minutes, lately it will run for twice that time even when clothes were dry at around 45 minutes previous, so basically not sensing dryness

Have you performed any of its required maintenance? If you have some general knowledge of 220V appliances, I can do my best to try and assist you in this. Otherwise, I would strongly advise against attempting repairs yourself for the simple purpose of your safety. Appliances which run at such high voltages can electrocute you to death in some cases, even when common sense is applied.

very experienced in appliances, refrigeration and HVAC for over 40 years,

have dismantled unit, cleaned out all dust from all paths in and out of drier, also cleaned sensors with alcohol. I am sure you have more experience with dryers and i am hoping I'm missing something that you can enlighten me on.

I am leaning towards changing the control circuit board as long as sensors wiring is intact. Not sure there could be anything else going on. Hopefully i can get some direction here on this site

@mikebhvac Forgive me for asking silly questions, but it will help me to assist you In figuring this out. Are you running the dryer's automatic cycles, or are you running manual 'timed' dry cycles? When selecting dry cycle, are you selecting the damp signal, checking the dryness level selected, and otherwise changing settings that could affect the machines use of the moisture sensors?

@mikebhvac I'll do my best to give you a hand Mike!

@d3emt answer would be Yes to automatic cycles, when using manual, it runs the set time, but with the automatic cycles The Damp/Dry signal only has a volume setting and it is set to Loud, Dryness was always set to "more" but I've tried changing to "normal" and "less" but it is not making any difference.
