What’s Likely Happening

Since your phone:

Boots normally when plugged in, but

Boot loops or shuts off when unplugged

…it’s probably one of the following issues:

1. Battery problem (most likely)

The battery might be deeply discharged, damaged, or no longer able to hold a charge.

When you unplug, the phone loses power instantly → triggering a reboot loop.

2. Loose or damaged battery connection

On some phones (especially if dropped or repaired before), the battery connector may be slightly loose.

3. Software or power management corruption

If you recently flashed, updated, or reset the phone, the OS could be misreporting the battery status or failing to manage power transitions correctly.

4. Motherboard or power IC issue (less common)

A damaged power management chip can cause symptoms like this.

Try These Fixes Step-by-Step

1. Leave it plugged in for a while

Plug it into a wall charger (not a PC port).

Leave it charging for 30–60 minutes, even if it’s stuck in a loop.

Then try to boot into recovery mode (see below).

2. Boot into Recovery Mode

Depending on your phone type:

Android (most phones):

Hold Power + Volume Up (sometimes Volume Down) until you see the logo.

iPhone:

iPhone 8 and newer: Press and quickly release Volume Up, then Volume Down, then hold Side button until you see recovery mode.

From recovery mode:

Try “Wipe cache partition” (Android).

If that doesn’t help, try “Reboot system now” or a factory reset (if you have a backup).

3. Check if it stays on in Safe Mode (Android)

Boot while plugged in.

Hold the Power button, then tap and hold Power off → Safe Mode.

If it stays on while plugged in but loops when unplugged, still points to battery/power issue, not an app.

4. Inspect / Replace the Battery

If the battery is removable, try:

Removing and reinserting it.

Testing with another known-good battery (same model).

If it’s not removable, you may need a repair shop to check battery health or replace it.

5. Check for Overheating or Liquid Damage

If the phone ever overheated or got wet, the power management IC could be failing, causing this exact symptom.
