car shaking when hitting brakes
my 2011 maxima shakes really bad when im hitting the brakes....what should i look at first to diagnose the problem?

Shaking while braking... well, if that's the only time you see it it sounds very much like you've warped rotors or imbalanced brakes. Time to get them fixed!

I'm going to second the motion for warped rotors. I don't know your situation, but if the rotors have been resurfaced too many times, they are susceptible to warping due to heat. That can also happen if they are used heavily for long periods of time or are subject to frequent hard braking.
A dial gauge on the surface of the rotor as you spin it will tell you if there's any wobble to it. You might be able to have them resurfaced to where they spin true again, but be prepared that you may have to replace them.
