Unless you tow heavy trailers regularly, a year is way too soon to need another set of brake pads, so obviously there's something more going on here.
Did you change the pads yourself, or did you pay a shop to do them? If you did them yourself, did you verify the calipers can slide freely on the guide pins? Were the pins and all metal contact parts lubricated with grease?
Are both sides working the same; it doesn't pull to one side or the other when you brake, does it?
If you had a shop do the work, you may want to go back to them and let them know the brakes have failed prematurely; depending on how long it's been and what their guarantees are, it may be covered under warranty.
