Nintendo Switch Replacement Digitizer Spurious Signals Until Warm-Up

Replacement digitizer generates spurious signals until the switch warms up. I have reseated the cable to make sure it’s installed correctly. Other suggestions are welcome.

Dwayne Springfield: I bought the new digitizer from ifixit and the description indicates that it’s compatible with my unit. Perhaps their replacement card reader is compatible with their replacement digitizer?

Sorry @dwaynespri34038, I accidentally removed your comment. My appologies.

What I would like to say: Which Switch version are you using? The 2017 model, the very first one? Do you have the model of the game card reader? Then I can check. Thank you!

It is a day 1 HAC-001 switch. So yes 2017. I’ll open up the unit again tomorrow and see if I can get a number off of the game card reader.

Alright!

Thanks Dwayne :)!

Then I’ll check if I can find out which model of touch screen is used for that one!

Looking at game card reader on side B I see the following: HAC-TPGC, 01, DM 6, and -6

HAC-TPGC is in top line and DM-6 is on next line left justified. -6 is on seconds line to the right. 01 is “floating” between the 2 lines on the right. On the metal body of the reader is the number 6014A. I with I could add a photo. Hopefully this is sufficient.

Hi!

I know that there are specific types available regardig the game card reader and touchscreens. They do need to match, if this is not the case, it will have spurious signals...

You can read more about this here: Replacing Game Card Reader Causes Touchscreen to Stop Working? : r/NintendoSwitch

So somehow, there are more different touchscreen models out there.... Same as for the game card readers.

I've read somewhere once that a extra cable can be soldered for the touchscreen to get it working. But couldn't find that post anymore. It's kinda risky, so best thing to do is to get the right model for your Switch!
