The slim edition of the classic Xbox 360 with a 250GB HDD and built-in Wi-Fi. Repair requires intricate prying and special tools.

Xbox 360 Slim - Without Video.

Hello, im pretty new here, so i apologize for any poblems.
Basically, i got a "new" X360 Slim. (Not the super slim).

i turn it on, and, well, no video.
Symptoms:
-No Video at all, i've tested both AV and HDMI.

-Powers on (Via Eject, Power button, can be powered by controller), and no RROD. Just the green led on.) It also does not make the boot up led animation.

-it reacts to eject, and the sync animation is somewhat bugged. controllers cant connect.

The PSU seems to be working fine. Orange on idle, green on powered on.

it is heating a little. so definitely the APU seems to be executing some code. (at least in theory).

The fan is correctly respoding to the fan curve set by the xbox.

i've confirmed it wont boot after some wait.

this is all that i have of info for now.

i've checked him on the sides to see if there is any RGH led on. i've seen nothing. im planning to crack it open (carefully) and give it a look.

My plans of fixing:
If it is RGH, i will give re-solder any cracked joints.

if is not RGH, i will need to diagnose what could be. i have no idea of how im doing that..

i will also put a little chispet heatsink on one of the components that seems to be responsible for this poblem. im not sure if it will help. but well, in stone age terms:
HEATSINK KEEP THINGS COOL, THINGS COOL NO POBLEM. roughly.

i want some help on diagnosing this poblem.

if its a issue that needs re-solding a chip, we will take to a technician to fix it. as we dont have the proper equipment. but i will happy to have some info on that. and if all is caused of those dirty temperature changes.

Hi there!

Hmm, could be a lot of things.

Did you tried to boot it without a HDD? Sometimes that help....

Otherwise I would open it and check it from the inside. Just to check if anything is failing or not.

Good day!

I've received him without any HDD. I checked its hdd slot.

Well, seems like i will have to open it.

Fact is: slims are more chill but have more poblems than jasper. (Phat)

Yeah, you probably need to open it now... Please let us know if you have any questions! If you want, you can share pictures regarding the motherboard with us. Ah, sometimes you have bad luck with Xbox 360 consoles.... (well this can happen literally with any console).

@dan0 Kay!, on this weekend, i plan on opening him. hopefully.

i will give more priority to my PHAT x360. that is a jasper with 3RL (NAND). if i need some help reagarding him, i will be sure to make a new post. (separated from this one).

im not sure if the posts here can wait til i open the console. my plan is to open the Slim on this weekend.

then, we will attempt to do repairs. as a last hoped, i tried to enter XeLL, to see if him was RGH'ed. im perrty anxious, so i like to try some things before opening it. i've put him and turned it on via EJECT. then i got Jrunner (both consle and PC on ethernet), and it did not find any XeLL console. so seems he has no XeLL, and probably also does not have RGH.

seems like i will have to live with BadUpdate exploit with him after i fix it. i honestly hope that its RGH, so we will re-solder the chip and it wil live once again. hopefully this time without turning into a thermonuclear bomb in some weeks.

That is fine! Hopefully you can get it back to working again!
