Repair guides, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for the 24" Apple iMac with M4 SoC, released in October 2024.

The mouse no longer functions

The mouse no longer operates. I can see it, but it won’t move. I have restarted it and still nothing. The iMac is only six months old. I tried to connect another mouse and that didn’t work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

While a pain you can use the keyboard arrow keys and the Control/Option keys to navigate via the keyboard. If the keyboard is responding via Bluetooth then the issue is a setting within the mouse Bluetooth settings. You might find it easier to plug in a USB mouse via a USB-C to USB-A adapter. Then open up the Bluetooth settings to re-establish the mouse's connection. Also make sure the mouse is charged.

Hey Dan,

Thank you for such a quick response. I tried using the USB-C direct connect option, and as soon as I disconnected it, it came back to life. I REALLY appreciate your help.

Pete
