Check in Task Manager → Processes → Memory to see what process is using the most amount of memory when there's nothing open on the laptop.
To get to Task Manager in Win 10 (or Win11) right click on the Taskbar and click on the Task Manager link in the menu box that opens.
If you don't know what the process does, search online for "what is the function of (insert name of process)" to find out.
