Center arm not moving

Whirlpool dishwasher, not sure what the model NAME is but the Model number is wdf560safm2.

i've replaced the circulation pump, water inlet valve and the center spray arm. the piping going up the back of the dishwasher isn't clogged as far as i can tell. the rest of the arms spin, but the centre arm refuses to spin? What else could be an issue?

Hi @reganhoffart

Check if the manifold arm between the rear feed tube and the middle spray arm is blocked.

@reganhoffart

Do the rest of the functions in the dishwasher work OK i.e. diverter motor, drain pump, heater, dispenser etc?

I realize that you've replaced the wash pump, but am wondering if it is getting enough power to operate at the correct speed so as to create enough water pressure to turn all of the spray arms.

Here's the tech sheet for the model.

Run the diagnostic tests just to see if they pick up if anything is wrong.

@jayeff the rest of the machine works as it should, and has fro a long time, well until now haha... i'm not sure about diagnostics? that looks pretty deep for me lol...

i guess one thing i should mention, and possibly an issue. i had to change the circ pump because it quit. i replaced it with one from Amazon, not a pump from a dealer. possible that the pump impellers aren't the same?

@reganhoffart

Looking online at different supplier parts lists for the dishwasher there seem to be various compatible, circulation pumps available e.g. part # W11521436, W11084656 and the last one that supersedes the previous numbers mentioned W11612327.

The thing that they all have in common is when looking at images of the pumps online that they show that it is a 120V AC 40W 0.9A pump and that the on time is 20 minutes and the off time is 10 minutes - zoom in on the image in this link

It may be if the pump that you have doesn't have the same voltage/power/amps (120V/40W/0.9A) specifications or the on/off time duration parameters on the label that it may not be pumping at the required pressure.
