Why does water boil continuously?

have a brentwood kt-40BS electric thermo pot that continuously boils & does not shut off ? solutions ?

It could be a faulty thermostat but if it is, the hard part would be finding a compatible, replacement part.

I couldn't find any parts at all for it online.

Looks like they're designed to be non-repairable, at least by the manufacturer.

You could try descaling the kettle and check if that fixes it. Half fill the kettle with clean water and bring it to the boil. Turn it off when it starts to boil and then add vinegar to it until it reaches the full mark and then let it stand overnight.

In the morning empty the kettle and then rinse the kettle with clean cold water a few times, (swirl the water about a bit), then fill the kettle and turn it on and see if it turns off like it is supposed to when it is boiling.

Most likely your thermostat switch, not an expensive part, but some kettles are not made to be repaired (that never stopped me) locate the switch, look for a suitable replacement, order it and replace it.

Sometimes the switch gets stuck by either rust, calcium buildup or just stuck, a clean or a gentle tap will bring it back to proper function.
