Delayed response and jerky take off when trying to accelerate

I recently had a charging issue with my 2015 Chevy Suburban LT. I changed the alternator and everything seemed to be fine. However, the next day, I noticed I was having an issue whenever I drove it. From a complete stop, when I press the gas to accelerate, my RPMs rev high and there is a delayed response before my car "catches" and jerks forward into gear. Once I get going, I'm generally fine but when I'm in traffic and press the gas for a quick acceleration, the delay and revving RPMs issue occurs again. I've driven it like that for a few days now because I didnt have time to take it to the shop, but the issue seems to be getting more pronounced.

Check the level of your transmission fluid. I had a VW Beetle that was exhibiting the same symptoms and it turned out it was low on fluid. When it's low, it takes longer for the torque converter to build up enough pressure to drive the output shaft, thus causing your delayed takeoffs. Once I topped up the fluid, it was fine. Have you noticed that it's not quite as bad after the car warms up? That was what I found, but it's going to depend how low the fluid is whether it gets better when it's warmed up or not.
