Kenmore is a popular appliance brand commonly sold by Sears, but Sears does not manufacture any of the appliances themselves. Instead, they source that out and have other manufacturers make their appliances for them. Kenmore refrigerators are made by a variety of different manufacturers including LG, Electrolux, GE, and Whirlpool.

Door bottom support broken

Refrigerator door is misaligned. Too low, scrapes the bottom of inside of frig as you try to close. Tried a taller leveling screw but bottom of frig door just collapses and door will not get back to original location. Is the bottom of the door that supports the leveling screw replaceable or fixable. Thx

Hi @bdwest23242

If the lower door scrapes the inside of the compartment, it may be a loose lower hinge bracket, worn hinge pin or spacer.

Here's a video that shows how to replace the hinge pin that may help.

It shows how to gain access so that you can check if the bracket (bent/loose?), the hinge pin (worn?) and spacer are all OK or not.

If replacements are required, the part numbers are as follows. Search online for the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.

lower hinge pin = 240516502

spacer = 240311303

lower hinge bracket = 240314011

Note: The refrigerator is a Frigidaire model, made for Kenmore as it is made entirely from Frigidaire parts. That's why parts results show Frigidaire name. Kenmore doesn't make appliances, they rebadge/made to order other makes of appliances e.g. LG, Frigidaire, Whirlpool etc

Unfortunately lower bracket all good. So is pin and spacer. It’s the door itself that has an issue. Caved in and can no longer support the pin. Thx for the reply. I’m assuming I would have to change door. Correct ?

@bdwest23242

Looks like it will have to be as they're a sealed unit i.e. filled with foam insulation

According to this parts supplier there are 3 doors compatible with the model

Part # 241623407, 240438617 & 240438619 click on Door parts diagram, expand the diagram to see part #15 in the diagram.
