N64 Powers On Then Shuts Off And Won't Power Back On

I have a NTSC N64 and it originally powered on every time with no power issues, but would have a horrible buzzing noise with the audio. Tried a known Nintendo brand working power supply and that did not change anything. Also tried a known working set of Nintendo brand AV cables and that did not change anything either. Also tried it on a different TV and the issue was still present. I noticed if I move the power cord brick slightly the audio noise would be quieter but still present. I then de-soldered the power port from the motherboard and soaked it in vinegar then rubbing alcohol to clean any possible corrosion in the port and soldered it back on. Now the N64 will power on once and it still had the audio issue present but then shut off after a few seconds and wouldn't power back on. I re-did my soldering job to cross that off but it won't power back on still. After a while the power cord breaker will reset and it will do the same thing again. This is with a jumper pak installed too. I tried it with a known working Nintendo brand expansion pak installed and it made no difference. Motherboard, jumper pak slot and game cartridge slot have been deep cleaned and I don't see any visual issues either. Any ideas? Thank you.

Hi!

Okay, so it happened since you removed the power port on the motherboard?

First of all, I would check the traces to check if there is no damage at all. If this is not the case, I would just replace the power port with a new one and see how that goes!

It's hard to get the part, so it's probably easier to get a broken (donor) motherboard with a different issue to see if you can get it back to life.

You also might want to check the capacitors when you are there, just to check if they are still fine or not!

Please let us know how it goes!
