Headphones not charging after cleaning.
Hi,
I recently bought a pair of XM4s off Facebook Marketplace for decently cheap ($100). so I'm okay with them just being completely busted. I took the ear pads off to try to clean it (used alcohol wipes and a bit of soap) after I noticed a bad odor, but they just will not charge. I tried the Reddit solution of holding the power button then plugging it in, but that didnt work. Does this seem like a battery issue, a me being to harsh with cleaning issue, or a Facebook Marketplace issue?

If these headphones weren't dropped and show signs of drop damage, either wires are broken or the battery pack is worn out. Disassembly is required to access the battery pack and applying an equivalent power supply to see if the headphone is useable to determine if battery replacement is needed. Insofar as cleaning ear pads. whether leather or polyurethane, alcohol wipes can dry out both and result in cracking. Leather cleaner and conditioner or silicone spray wiped onto PU and left on for a day or two, excess wiped off, can restore suppleness back to body oils damaging leather or PU ear pads.
