Repair and disassembly information for Rakuten Kobo’s Clara BW (black and white) eReader, released in April 2024. Identified by model number N365.

Screen replacement for P365

I have a Kobo Clara BW P365 but I only see an N365 screen available. The install instructions say to check which model you have as the images only apply to the N365 but it's not clear if the screen is compatible with the N365, N365B, and the P365.

Anyone know?

Any signs on motherboard, display, display connector? It's better to search with them than the device model. You can't know what display is used.

I have not opened the damaged device up. I need to know if it's compatable before I order. Is there no way to contact ifixit? I can't seem to find anywhere to contact them on the website.

@jon56733 No way to know your exact CHINA device part number before disassembling.

I opened it up last night and visually, the screen and connectors from the screen look the same as what pictured in the instruction. The battery and MB are different, as that's the change from the N365 to the P365. I could not find any specific part number to compare to what is shown in the add so I'm at a loss. I found a link to email ifixit so I'll just have to wait and see if they respond.

Thanks,

For anyone struggling with this in the future, I got an answer from Kobo... The N365 screen for sale on ifixit is compatable with the N365, N365B, and P365 version of the Clara BW.

Good, you should try, sometimes it happens that fully compatible connector and display type works wrong on another revision of device.. but usually it will work.
