Google Pixel 6a screen not displaying

Purchased a Google Pixel 6a off Swappa.com for my son. Worked fine from the startup. About a week in, the screen locked up, it wouldn't respond to anything, you could see it, but would't respond to touches. A hard reset took care of that issue. A week later my son was at work, dropped the phone. Was able to use the phone after the drop, checked his school grades/assignments just fine. Later the screen would not display any longer. Tried to do a hard reset multiple times, but the screen isn't displaying anything. Clicking on the power button, can feel a slight vibration. Family Link is installed, but the option to play a sound on the phone doesn't respond. I don't know the phone needs to be logged in or not. Have NOT tried to connect to computer to see if it will allow it or not

I'm looking at fixing this phone, but could something come "loose" inside that would cause the display to not work? Do I need to get a new display? Is there a way to test the screen?

Thanks.

Unlike my Pixel 6 Pro, the screen connector on your phone is held in place by a clip using tension rather than being screwed down like my 6 Pro. So after a fall, it is quite possible the clip could have popped loose, allowing the connector to disconnect, if only partially. Here's what your connector looks like.

Outside of restarting the phone, and possibly restoring it to factory settings, that connector is really about your only hope. If it's come loose, you should just be able to pop it back in place and be good to go; otherwise the next step is definitely going to mean replacing the screen.

Follow the guide up through Step 16 and disconnect the screen. Examine both sides with a magnifying glass and bright light to make sure there are no bent, broken or missing pins. If it all looks good, clean both sides with 90% or higher concentration isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, give it a minute to dry, then reconnect and test to see if it's working.
