I attempted the repair. The owner of said Pixel does not want to pay OEM price so i searched for an aftermarket OLED.
I purchased 2 screens, one for $54.59 listed as OLED LCD, the other for $96.37 listed as OLED and with specs including resolution the same as OEM. I was skeptical of the 1st screen as it listed no specs and seller did not know how it compares with OEM.
We decided to test it for several days. The performance was poor. At times visuals on screen would not match normal touch positions. Battery drained much faster than usual. Finger print did not work (Transferred from Original screen.)
Next we installed the higher priced screen. Used it for a couple days. Same performance. Fast Battery drain. No finger print. Visuals did not line up with normal touch positions. This screen also was not true black, rather it produced a brownish tint.
Debrief: Google Pixel 6 Pro are not worth replacing unless using OEM.
Read reviews, Count the number of success stories vs not successful.
Many sellers on eBay and Amazon list their screens as OLED LCD. These are likely not OLED at all but rather LCD.
I would have purchased an OEM screen if price was not an issue. Per the reviews on ifixit's OEM screen, most people have good success.
