Why my laptop wont power on

my acer laptop wont turn on but when a usb cable is connected to another device show that their is power in the mother board.also no light so i opened to identify the problem when i placed my finger on a specific point in the motherboard the blue light came on but when i removed the finger the light turned off.what could be wrong with it?
