Battery stopped charging while plugged in

Hi I need some help !

I replaced my battery then charged it. After a while the fans started to be really loud so I moved my laptop from the couch to a table. The fans were less loud. After another while, the light was still orange and I started wondering why it was taking so long. It had been over two hours. I wanted to see how many percent the battery was at. I turned on the laptop, it showed 83% then the light turned green and it stopped charging while it was still plugged in. I kept it plugged, I turned it off. Waited for a few minutes. Then turned it back on. Same green light, same charging stopped.

I am worried. Can you help me ?

I am leaving it plugged in and turned off but the light is still green.

Thanks,

Nathalie

The charging logic has two inputs to prevent over charging, thermal and voltage sensors. As the battery is 83% charged and the MagSafe cord LED is Green tells me the system is just in a wait state for the battery temp to drop. To be honest I don't let my systems charge beyond ~80% I use a third party app to do this as your battery will last longer.

How about installing a more informative tool to monitor your systems battery condition. I find CoconutBattery as one of the better.
