Horizontal Lines (fine gaps).

Newbie here. My Epson PS 1400 lately gives these horizontal gaps which show in the negatives I print for gum bichromate images which are very noticeable what can be done to eliminate please? I have tried correct nozzle alignment and extreme to lower/higher values without influence. See attachment please.

Is this unit used daily?

If not Epson is notorious for banding problems like you show.

The old fix was to move the head to the middle and turn off machine.remove black cartridge and use an eyedropper with some one fifth diluted ammonia. Put cartridge back in. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Plug machine back in and run a nozzle clean.

No guarantee but back in the past I have revived about 90% of inkjet banding, with this.

Please consider you are putting a liquid in an electrical unit.

No guarantees just use your own judgement.

I was a Canon rep and it was our old technology we abandoned brfore going bubble jet.
