Only 2sec window to insert disc when turning ps5 on

My playstation 5 i just bought from a scammer has a problem with disc drive

When you turn it on disc drive activates and starts sucking in a disc automatically, this is the only time you can insert a disc. Game will install normally. Disc also comes out when you press eject. And after that disc drive keeps on making noise for 20 secs. Not very loud or disturbing. Just odd.

Once the console has turned on, it no longer accepts a disc. The only way to insert a disc is to restart the console and feed it the disc during startup.

Edit: if disc is in when you turn console on the disc comes out.

Edit: there was some grime around the disc drive, i suspect sensors could be covered in something
