The Golf Mk4 was first introduced in August 1997, followed by a notchback version (VW Bora or, in North America, again VW Jetta) in August 1998 and a new Golf Variant (estate) in March 1999.

I have the listed above Kenwood deck installed in my mk4 golf it was working for a while then gave me the “check wiring then pwr on” message so I decided to redo the wiring when I initially installed it. But now there is no power to the unit at all. I’m just curious what I should try next and if anyone has any solutions, thanks all help is appreciated.

Hi @haydenmacleod

Go to p.30 (36 of 116 pdf) in the owner manual to view the installation wiring diagram for the unit.

Check if there's 12V DC on the Yellow battery wire and also on the Red ignition wire leads to the unit, when the ignition key is switched to the Accessory position. If either voltage is missing check that their respective fuses are OK
