@mabindrar you can check the cycle count of your battery by using Dell's built-in diagnostics. Press F12 at startup, select Diagnostics, go to the System Info > Health tab. See what it tells you about the cycle count.
You can also run that in Windows by using the command prompt:
- Open the Run window: Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard simultaneously.
- Open Command Prompt: Type
cmd
into the Run window and press Enter or click OK. - Run the command: In the Command Prompt window, type
powercfg /batteryreport
and press Enter. - Find the report: A file path will be shown in the Command Prompt; this is where the report is saved.
- View the report: Copy this path and paste it into your web browser or File Explorer to open the HTML file containing your battery cycle count and other information.

As for the battery being comparable, that is something only the service staff at iFixit can answer but I am certain that it is equal to or better than what you would get anywhere else.
