A red light on your Lenovo IdeaPad 1-15ADA7 that won't start usually means a power or battery issue. Here's how to troubleshoot:

1 Perform a Hard Reset: Unplug the charger and remove the battery if possible (some IdeaPads have non-removable batteries). Hold the power button for 30–60 seconds to drain residual power. Reconnect the battery (if removed) and charger, then try turning it on

2 Check the Power Adapter and Charging Port: Make sure the charger is plugged into a working outlet and the laptop's port. Inspect the charger and cable for damage. Try another compatible charger if you have one. A blinking red light while charging might mean a bad adapter or DC-in jack

3 Test Without Battery: If the battery is removable, take it out and try running the laptop on just the AC adapter. If it starts, the battery might be bad and need replacing

4 Check for Overheating or Hardware Issues: If you hear fans or see the Lenovo logo but it doesn't fully boot, it could be overheating or a motherboard problem. Make sure vents are clear and the laptop is on a flat, cool surface

5 Boot into Safe Mode or BIOS: If it partially starts, try Safe Mode by pressing F8 or Shift+F8 repeatedly during startup, or access BIOS with the Novo button (a small pinhole near the power button) or F2 to see if it responds

6 Inspect Internal Components: If you're comfortable, open the back panel to reseat the RAM or disconnect/reconnect the internal battery (if non-removable). This can fix power issues from loose connections

7 Update BIOS or Run Diagnostics: If you get to BIOS or Safe Mode, go to Lenovo's support site to run diagnostics or update the BIOS to fix power glitches

If none of this works, it may be due to a faulty motherboard, DC-in jack, or other hardware failure. Contact Lenovo Support or a repair shop for help. Don't keep charging if the red light stays on, as it could indicate a bigger problem
