Pretty tough unless you have electronics repair experience. Here are some simplified steps
Collect supplies: electronic case opening tool kit, micro needle nosed pliers/tweezers, soldering iron, solder, flux, desoldering braid, acid brush, iso alcohol
Determine charging port type - purchase on Amazon
Open case (remove any screws, pry on side of case to unclip top from bottom)
Determine you have correct replacement charging port (USB-C, Micro/Mini USB, etc.)
Tin soldering iron, flux charging port solder connections
Hold charging port with pliers and touch hot tinned soldering iron to solder connections (back and forth until port comes loose, careful not to leave it on too long)
Clean area with desoldering braid, then clean with acid brush dipped in alcohol, let dry
Prepare for new port
flux area where new port will sit
put port in area, matching solder legs with solder pads
hold port in place with pliers
put a bead of solder on tip of soldering iron
run soldering iron across the legs of new port until it is firmly connected to board (check to make sure there are no solder bridges or loose solder joints)
If you have solder bridges, run a dry iron across the legs a few more times to clean the excess solder off
clean with iso alcohol and acid brush, let dry
Before you put it back together, test it by plugging it in to see if it powers up. If all is good, put it back together.
