PSP-3000 (TA-095) Display Issue – Backlight Works, No Video

Hey everyone, I need some advice on fixing a PSP-3000 (TA-095 motherboard).

I recently bought a PSP-3000 for repair. The original display was broken, and it wasn’t clear whether the video output worked, but the console played the boot sound and the buttons responded.

I ordered two replacement displays from AliExpress (one cheaper, one more expensive), both advertised as compatible with the PSP-3000 series and TA-095 boards. On both screens, the backlight works but there’s no video output at all.

At first, I suspected a faulty video chip, but the PSP outputs video to a TV via cable just fine.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? Could it still be a motherboard problem, or is it more likely the AliExpress screens are just poor quality? Any advice on what to check or where to get a proper replacement would be greatly appreciated.

TL;DR: PSP-3000 TA-095, boots fine, outputs video to TV, but two AliExpress replacement screens (backlight only, no video)

I had this once a long time ago and in that case it was motherboard related.

I don't think it's the screen as both are having the exact same issue.

So, you might want to inspect that one. Could also be the connector which is having issues. Are you sure the screen is all in?

Thank you so much! No, I'm not really aware. Just to clarify — do I need to post a complete photo of the top of the motherboard (the part that's covered under the screen), or should I disassemble the console and post photos of the motherboard from both sides?

No, I wasn’t able to. However, I found out that the video signal actually works by connecting a cable to the TV. I gave the PSP to a repairman, but I still haven’t heard back from him.

any updates from this issue i have the same problem with my niece 3000 ta-095 after hard drop, it happened, lcd has no physical damage and already test it from other board and is working but from original board no display only backlight
