Boot sequence issues and full blast fan while running

Good day, I have a 2016 MBP, battery is dead and i need to be plugged in to use it.

The issue is, i need to press the power button then plug it in to make the MBP start. Then the fan is in full blast while im using it.

Just upgraded to Sonoma via Opencore, works great.

My Main question is; what is the issue when starting the laptop. is there a hardware problem?

Thanks

Given the systems age I'm suspecting the battery has failed, install this Gem of an App CoconutBattery it will allow you to see mot]re clearly the batteries health. Post a snapshot of the Apps main window here so we can see as well.

@jujoe - If the systems sensors are telling SMC there is a problem, the SMC logic will lower the CPU's clocking as well as pump up the fans RPM as it's going into CPU Safe Mode. I suspect that is what you are seeing which is likely the Battery, but without proof of seeing the CoconutBattery screen shot I can't tell you it's the battery alone.
