help wth touch screen not working after replacement

Hello all. With the help of people on the board successfully installed a new battery and new home button assembly on an Ipad Pro 9.7” tablet. Both the home button and the screen touch function worked before I reattaching the screen to Ipad frame. Then the home button worked and brought up the screen to allow me to enter the device code, many times. I am fine with fingerprint recognition not working with a new home button. But at this point the screen no longer recognized touch input. I’ve restarted the Ipad several times. The parts I replaced are spacer ring, home button, then gasket. Folded the flex cable to be out of the way. The parts are clean and securley (sp) attached.

Could something be pinched? I folded the home button flex cable upwards and over the top of itself, the OEM folded it underneath with a pretty sharp bend. I did this because I was afraid to break the home button flex cable. There were 2 nonconductive strips from the top and bottom of the original OEM screen, I put them on the replacement screen. Very clean parts, all secured. But I must have missed something like a piece of tape??? Also, do the metal brackets on the home button bracket contact another piece after assembly?

Thanks in advance to experienced folks who respond to questions.
