Stuck on Apple logo, Won’t go into Disk Mode

Hi!

I’m trying to get my brother’s black and white classic up and running. I’ve had this same problem for a while, so I replaced the battery. But it still will stay stuck on the Apple logo. When it was charged, it wouldn’t go to disk mode, two times it let me go into diagnostic mode. To get it “off,” I have to let the battery drain. Now it won’t even go into diagnostic mode anymore. Does anyone have any idea what I need to change/replace?

Here are photos of the logic board with the battery and HDD unplugged:

Hi!

At this moment, it does sound like the HDD is having issues or is broken at the moment.

I would replace it (even better replacing it now for a SSD). Here is the guide: iPod 4th Generation or Photo Hard Drive Replacement - iFixit Repair Guide

After this, please reinstall the software and see how it goes! This is the best and most easy way to test to see if it is the HDD or not.

Please let me know if you need any more info!
