Samsung un60h6203afxza with flashing backlights

I have a Samsung un60h6203afxza with no picture. When I pulled the back off to check the power supply, I could see what I believe are the backlights, flashing at regular intervals. One of the pins on the power supply was fluctuating between 1.9 and 2 volts. 3 of the pins were fluctuating between 4.9 and 5.1 volts.

Hi @jrcspnkr117

Try disconnecting the power to the TV and then disconnect the power board-mainboard cable at the power board end.

Reconnect the power to the TV and check if the backlights turn full on and stay on.

There will be no image displayed on the screen because the mainboard is disconnected.

If they don't then there's a problem with either the power board or the LED strips.

If they do then there's a problem with the mainboard

I disconnected the main board from the power board and the back lights still flash at regular intervals. Is there a way to pinpoint weather it is the power board or the strips? Thanks for the help.

@jrcspnkr117

Disconnect the LED power cable from the power board and then measure the voltage on the power board at the LED power cable connector, between a +LED led feed on the connector and an Earth (screwhead?).

The voltage should be >150V DC and steady.

If it pulses it's the power board, if not it's the strip

Used a heat sink for one of the transistors as ground and got a steady reading of 450 volts. Does that mean one of the strips is out?

@jrcspnkr117 whenever there is/are any "weak" LED's on your strip, your strip will turn on and off. If the issue would be your power board, the LED's would not blink. Replace the backlight strips and re-evaluate.

Thank you for your time and attention. I will be ordering some backlights.
