Do I need a new motherboard replacement?
A long while ago, the pad on my 3ds xl circle pad snapped in half, so my dad and I bought a replacement off amazon. As we were taking everything apart, the lock for the ribbon cable on the ZIF connector broke. My dad ended up soldering wires to the circle pad connection points to get it to work.
I want to do a re-shell in the future because all the factory paint is chipping off from sweat and sun damage, however with how the hard wire is setup, it would make it rather difficult to take everything apart. Because of the ZIF connector lock being completely snapped off, would I in turn have to replace the entire motherboard? I doubt such a small connector can be sold separately, but I thought I would ask regardless.
