Repair guides, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for the Google Pixel 9 Pro smartphone, announced August 2024. Model number GR83Y.

Is the screen cable bracket available anywhere as a spare part?

I recently had a bad experience with Google's local "approved" repair store here. I went in for a screen replacement, with a cracked-but-working-screen'd Google Pixel 9 Pro. I came back to receive a still-cracked-but-now-unresponsive-screen'd Google Pixel 9 Pro.

After kicking myself for not just being patient, I went ahead and ordered the screen replacement here. Things were going well until I realized the local shop never gave me back the critical screen cable bracket mentioned in steps 10 and 22 of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Replacement guide.

I fully intend to go back to the shop and try to get a replacement for this piece from them, but does anyone know if the critical screen cable bracket is available as a spare part?

FWIW, it seems this is the only thing blocking me from a full repair, as I went ahead and connected the cable and powered on, as recommended in step 22, and the replacement screen was working as expected.

I wonder if a 3D printed replacement would suffice, in the case the part isn't available. Can anyone out there with a working Google Pixel 9 Pro provide the dimensions of the piece?

I am wondering this myself too, I also noticed that they have a display bracket for the Pixel 8a.

Wondering if this part can also be used on the Pixel 9?

If its an approved repairer I'd go and demand it back. If not they should order a replacement for free.

@smrdamudic I want to caution you: you may be thinking of the screen/display bracket itself, as I talk about in my comment to the accepted answer. The word "bracket" in steps 10 and 22 of the screen replacement guide sent me on a bit of a rabbit hole, personally. Good luck in any case!

@nige56 100% agreed, and they certainly did hand one over when I mildly stormed in earlier today :)

Thanks @jayeff! I was searching in many wrong directions, and I think this could be largely resolved if the guide would update its terminology for this part to be "screen cable clip" or even just "screen clip" from "screen cable bracket". I think the keyword "bracket" sends people in the wrong direction, i.e. I kept finding hits for the screen bracket itself, instead of the screen cable's bracket.

In the end, I did get the original repair store to give me a replacement screen clip as I intended, and as some suggested to do in the comments. Just waiting on some more adhesive to arrive, and I'll be ready to repair my phone. Thanks for everyone's comments and this answer!
