Display is not showing

The laptop is powering on and the screen on display also changes but it shows nothing but clear blank. What seems to be the problem? Also how to take off it's back cover?

Hi @veevee17316

Try connecting an external monitor (TV?) to the laptop's HDMI port and check if there's a display showing on it coming from the laptop. Don't forget to press the F7 (Fn+F7?) key to switch the video output from the laptop screen to the external monitor.

If you can see images on the external monitor, then it could be either a faulty eDP (video) cable or loose cable connection between the motherboard and the LCD panel or a faulty LCD panel.

Here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to the bottom of p.39 (45 of 58 pdf) to view the procedure to remove the LCD unit. This will give you access to the eDP cable.

If there are no images on the external monitor either, then there's a motherboard problem in the laptop and further testing would be required to find out what the problem is.
