Repair documentation and information for the Google Pixel 4a 5G. Released on October 29th, 2020. Model number: G025E

No cellular service after liquid damage

After cracking screen and then dropping phone briefly in the bath, a short while later the screen died.

I've since got this replaced (sadly I didn't get to look inside) all functionality works (incl. WiFi Bluetooth), except for cellular connection, it shows no service and no networks available under the network selection setting.

Do you think replacing the antenna cable or board is likely to fix this, I'm unsure where the actual antenna itself is (embedded in the back frame?).

Any help or suggestions very appreciated :3

Did you or someone else replace the screen? If the phone hasn’t been stripped down and cleaned with alcohol to displace any water the chances are the board is corroded. The longer it’s left the worse it gets I’m afraid. Totally strip the phone down and remove any corrosion with alcohol and a toothbrush. Look for any solder joints that have been eaten away and component’s that have been damaged. You may need a shop with a microscope to look for you as there are metal plates soldered to the board which might need to come off too.
