Display not powering up after SSD swap

Block Image

I was trying to replace the harddrive (and converting to SSD) on my 2015 iMac. All seemed to be going well but when I tried to turn it on, the monitor panel is completely dead. I hear the strating tone of the computer but no life at all in the panel. Then I noticed one of the display plugs on the motherboard looked like a little piece had broken off. Does that explain why it's not working? And if so is there a fix or have I broken it? If so I might try to just do a monitor conversion.. It's a 2015 so I don't think I need the thermal sensor.. or do I? Any help much appreciated!

That little part broken off should not cause the screen to not have any image or be dead 100% That plug specifically is the Backlight of the screen.

Will you check with a high power flashlight super close to the screen - if there is any image of sort, but no light behind it? I have experienced that plug not working the best and needing to make sure it was plugged in all the way to get good backlight.

Also, will you upload a picture of the metallic connector that the screen also plugs into? That is the data for the image plug.

@joesipaq Just a quick not to say thanks very much for the answer. I'll try the flashlight test soon but a bit busy at work at the moment! Thanks again.
