Laptop turns on but no display

Laptop turns on but no display

I have a HP 14-cm003na laptop that turns on (fan spins, light changes to white) but nothing is shown on display. Display looks like it's not even turned on. I opened it up and inspected some parts. I first tried with an external monitor to see if anything shows up when turned on but nothing does. It says no signal. I've tested the ram in a different pc as well and it's not that. I've only recently seen something in the ram connector. Not sure if it's corrosion or something but it doesn't come off. Not sure how I can clean it. Also there's no other ram slot for me to test. What do you guys think the problem is?

Turn on the laptop, let it start up. Using a flashlight at an angle and very near to the screen, get in close and try to see if the display is actually working. If you can see a very very dark image, the cause is the screen backlight. If you cannot, the cause is the display adapter.
