iPhone 7/8/SE 2020 2022 aftermarket home button haptic/vibration

Hi all. I recently replaced the home button of my 2020 SE with a universal aftermarket one. As expected, Touch ID no longer works, but I also noticed the strength of haptic feedback doesn't change depending on how hard I press, and I have to fully lift & replace my thumb to double/triple click (versus leaving it on the button and just pressing down). Tightening and loosening the bracket screws doesn't change it in my case (suggested on a lot of posts). Is this normal for aftermarket home buttons?
