Larger version of the Nintendo DSi, released March 2010 in North America. Most repairs are accomplished with only a screwdriver and prying tools.

Replaced Motherboard, Screen flashes then goes black, Help!

I have recently replaced the motherboard of my girl friends DSI XL, after reconnecting everything to the best of my ability, I tried to power it on, the bottom screen flashes then it goes off, so does the power light.

I tried to reconnect everything again and still nothing, I plugged into charger and it does indicate it’s charging but it doesn’t turn on.

Hi Luis!

The screen flash is common. It means that one of the screens aren't connected properly (most of the time) or the ribbon cable is damaged, so it think that it's not connected properly.

The screen that flashes is correctly connected, so in your case it means that the upper screen is at fault. Please check the connection and the ribbon cable if they are 100% good. If it's 100% correctly connected, then you might need to replace the upper screen.

Please let us know how it goes!
