The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), or simply the Super Nintendo, is a 16bit gaming console released by Nintendo in 1990. The Super Nintendo was one of the best sellers of its time and still has a large fanbase today.

Why does the same game not play in different consoles

I have 2 copies of donkey kong 3 and neither one will let me play 2 player. I can choose it but when it asks for 2nd player's name it freezes up. I have tried both games in 2 different consoles. What can I do? Thank you

Hi!

So, Donkey Kong Country 3 (both copies) did also crashed on the other consoles? This is not common at all. First of all, how is the save battery in there? Still OK? Maybe you want to replace those batteries. Also clean both cartridges with isopropyl alcohol.

If you are not sure if they are OK, please share some pictures with us, regarding inside the cartridge.

Thanks!

Where is the save battery? I have cleaned both cartridges and both consoles with no luck at all. I have a console and my mother has one and we each have a copy of the game and we cannot set up a 2 player game on either game or either console. Very confused. Thank you for your help. I don't know what to do.

Did you opened up the games? It's directly on the motherboard, you cannot miss it. If you need a guide, please let me know!

No I did not open the games. I would love a guide on that. Thank you

Otherwise you can follow this one: Super Nintendo Cartridge Replacement

Please let me know how it goes! You need to clean everything also the pins completely. And you can check the battery it's voltage with a multimeter.
