I removed the shield above the motherboard….

I removed the shield above the motherboard, the one with the 42 screws, but upon prying it off I notice the heat putty underneath. After reassembly, my PS5 is free from dust and debris, however, it overheated in a matter of minutes. Should I replace the putty?
