Black screen and power shutdown after 45 sec

I did all the preliminary stuff. Discharged power, recycled, hit windows +b+ alt + whatever it was but nothing. So Now i got it open

I tested cmos it's good, battery seems good. What else can I test? and is there a service technicians guide/manual that anyone knows of? I couldn't find anything except the official parts maintenance book. I have a lot of work I need to get off here. Thanks Jeff

Hi @abstraktli71215

Does it do this with the charger connected to the laptop?

Can you get into the BIOS menus on startup and see if it stays on without powering off, when there?

Can you hear (or feel) if the fans are working in the laptop?

You data should be OK as it is either on a removable sata HDD or M.2 SSD which can be connected to another PC. Search online for how to connect a HDD (or SSD) from a dead laptop to another PC

B4 something messes with your data you should remove the system drive and connect it to another computer and remove your data. That is why we backup to be able to move forward.

You don't explain what you mean by "open", but what you see and hear during those 45 seconds is important diagnostic info.

Fans running fast/slow

what is on the screen or not

what any of the LEDs are doing - especially a drive LED.
