Hi @adriancedrick

Has the keyboard gotten wet or the laptop been dropped at all?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@jayeff Thanks for the reply! No, my laptop has never been dropped. Can I just turn the internal keyboard off?

@adriancedrick

If it also hasn't got wet then it should be OK to turn it off.

If it has had liquid spilled on it then it's best to fix that problem before doing anything else as more problems may result.

Also check that there isn't a sticking key somewhere on the board. Press every key a few times just to see if it stops. If it does stop when doing this note which key you pressed last.

@jayeff Can you teach how to properly turn the keyboard off? Actually, it also automatically goes to the BiOS menu upon turning on. Is there a way to fix that too?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@adriancedrick

The only way to disable the keyboard is in Device Manager in Windows, but this only lasts while the laptop is turned on. Once it is turned off and then turned on again the keyboard will be reactivated.

Better to try and find out what's wrong. You'll also need to connect an external keyboard if you want to enter any information etc unless you have the touchscreen version

Try turning on the laptop and press F10 a few times to get to the BIOS menus and then press F9 to reset the BIOS to default values, save and exit and check what happens.

@jayeff Thanks a lot! This is really helpful! I'll be back for some updates.

Well you can do the following:

  • Boot into Safe Mode:
  • Check for Malware or Keyloggers
  • Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers
  • Disable Internal Keyboard Temporarily
