The MSI GF63 Thin is a gaming laptop featuring a thin bezel display, powerful processors, and dedicated graphics cards. It's designed to be portable and lightweight, making it a good choice for mobile gamers.

The charging port of my msi gf63 came out

So as said in the title, my charging port broke of my computer. I wanted to know which part should I buy to replace it or how do I put it back ?? Here’s a picture of the piece and when I tried to put it back

Yeah, I hate to tell you, but I'd say your motherboard is toast.

Not only is the circuit board physically broken off, you've got some burnt components right next to it. That's not to say it's impossible to fix, but honestly it's beyond the capabilities of most average DIY-ers; this is going to take expertise in circuit board repair and troubleshooting, as well as boardview files and schematic diagrams.

Personally I'd be looking for a replacement motherboard if I were you, otherwise you're going to have to find a very good repair shop. I consider myself above average with regard to electronics repairs and I'd say this one's beyond me.

Thanks for the honest assessment. I had a feeling it was bad, but it’s helpful to hear it from someone more experienced. I’ll start looking if I can find a repair shop. Appreciate your input!

@chiarabolz47612 Unfortunately, one other issue with trying to repair the damage is that the circuit board also provides physical stability to the port for when you're plugging and unplugging the charger. With half the circuit board broken off, I'm concerned that the stresses of plugging and unplugging the power cord is going to cause a replacement port to fail prematurely since it will only have half the reinforcement it originally did, or maybe even less.

Now that may depend on exactly how a repair shop goes about fixing it, but they'll definitely have to put some thought into figuring out how to make that port secure so it doesn't just break off on you again. I would definitely discuss that with any shop you talk to.
