Why is my ps5 turning off?

My ps5 randomly turned itself off today so I cleaned the fan, and it worked for a bit until it turned off again. I changed the power cord and it did the same thing.

Okay, first of all: dissasemble the PS5 completely and remove all dust. Replace the liquid metal. Then try again.

If it's still failing, then test the power supply. It should have 12V on there all the time, even in standby mode. If this is not the case, replace the power supply and test again!

  • Listen for any clicks or power surges inside the console
  • If under warranty, do not open the PSU—instead, contact Sony support
  • If out of warranty and you're experienced, consider replacing the internal PSU module
  • Also check for the Software/Firmware Bug
