@oneskilledyang what engine size and what type of transmission? What does it sound like under the hood? This does sound like its coming from the transmission.

3.7L V6

No it isn’t the transmission. it is an automatic

The noise started after I drove it home. I ran outta gas and then the car started making that noise. Can idle or stay on. It only revs to 4000 rpm and dies

@oneskilledyang oil is okay and not overheating? Even an automatic transmission can make a noise if there are issues with the flex plate or anything inside the transmission. where do you hear most of the noise?

@oldturkey03 no transmission problems only start up issues

Sounds like either an exhaust leak or the exhaust is plugged up.

If it does not stay running, it is plugged up.
