One Loud Continuous Beep

Hello

Got a PS5 Console (CFI-1215B) off of Ebay for stopping in middle of game. I played a game on the system and it did stop in the middle of a game. Troubleshot the unit and found a large dry spot on the VPU. Cleaned the tarnish off and reapplied the Liquid Metal and added a Dot more.

I reassembled and started the system up fine and went to main screen. I was able to update the Software. I had no codes or problems. I also went through all the main screen opening and closing links.

I started a game and was playing. At first it was slow play and doing fine. Then when it would start to get faster play the screen/game froze and a Loud Continuous Beep started. I was unable to back out of game or turn the system off by the on/off button. I had to pull the power plug in order for the system to turn off.

I opened up the unit and looked at the liquid metal again and it was still spread out and in good condition. I reassembled and powered up the system again. I had no Codes being shown on startup. Tried playing game again and exact same thing happened.

Anybody know what this is and or have a fix for it?

Thanks

MJ

Hi MJ!

Does the PS5 blow all the time? I actually starting to think that the SSD is faulty and need to be replaced.

The only big issue is, is that it's soldered on the motherboard...

Do you have any soldering experience?

Is this the SSD Controller Chip you’re talking about?

Or the SSD chips themselves?

Yes, every time I play a game where there is fast movements it starts the loud beep and screen freezes.

Sometime I can back out by controller and other times I need to remove power cord.

As for soldering experience.

I have changed out HDMI’s and Ethernet ports.

Had some capacitors I changed.

Never had a BGA yet.

There always need to be a first time.

Thanks

The SSD chips themselves. Could also be the RAM which is failing. When you are installing games, does this work flawless?

That is true!! Should be doable and will be a nice repair!
