Repair, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for Apple's 7th generation iPad mini tablet, updated in October 2024 with the A17 Pro SoC and Apple Pencil Pro support.

Anyone know where the sleep/wake magnets are?

I’m trying to make my own folio case for the ipad mini 7 but I can’t find where I need to put the magnets so that when I close the case my ipad will turn off at the same time. I’ve looked at the teardowns and didn’t see this sensor labeled there, and it doesn’t appear to be the two (somewhat hidden) sensors on the right side of the ipad?

The best way is to grab a folio case and use this Magnetic detection paper so you can see the magnets. I do believe the magnets are within the folio case for the Hall sensor which is on the logic board to sense its presence.
