Left joy-con selectively connecting?

Hello,

I've never asked a question here before, and I'm not super educated in the realm of tech, but my friend trusted me with his Nintendo Switch after it was temporarily inside a tote bag full of water for a short period.

I gave both joycons time to dry (48 hours near exactly), before testing the joy-cons on my console and his.

The left joy-con (light pink) is having issues connecting. Whenever slid into the rails of the device, it sometimes is recognized by the switch, other times not. This is true on both switch consoles. By the time you hit a button or two, the joycon is suddenly unrecognized.

Joy-con will not turn on at all to be wirelessly recognized, but will show as recognized via indicator light when I place it on my 3rd party charging stand.

How may I fix this issue? Any insight it welcome, thank you for your time.

Hi!

Well the best thing to do is to open it up and check where the corrosion is and clean it.

If possible, please share some pictures with us when it's opened.

It could be the rail, but could also be something else on the motherboard.
