Logic board update to the newest possible

Hello, I just upgraded my ram to 16gb and the cpu of my 2012 a1418. It had the i5 2.7 cpu and I changed it to the i7 3.1. I have seen a lot of difference. I use this iMac for photo storage since I also changed to an ssd years ago

I was wondering if I can change the logic board to a newer one, which models are suitable and if I can have one that supports nvme ssd and has a better graphics card?

Sorry, each series version changes things just enough so you won't be able to swap-out the logic board to the most current 21.5 system.

I don’t want the most current system. I want to know the newest logic board I can change to

@georgearesti - Unlike Generic PC's which have a standard size, Apple iMac's have unique logic boards and while they may looks alike, the placement of the connections as well as the connections are not coincident across.

Maybe it would be better asking this question to one of the Mac parts houses to see what they say TheBookYard
