Cap to reservoir turns freely but can’t be removed.

I have the Wagner 0520106 Steam cleaner. I cannot remove the cap to the reservoir. It spins freely but never goes up or down. How can I remove the cap?

Try pushing down on the cap and whilst holding it down turn the cap in an anticlockwise direction.
